Regarding the Tamil song: Sri Ra. Ganapathy, an ardent devotee of Paramaacharya and the author of “Deivathin Kural – தெய்வத்தின் குரல்”, composed this wonderful Tamil translation that beautifully conveys the original meaning. This appeared in his book “Maitreem Bhajata”. When Bhagavan Yogi Ramsuratkumar saw this Tamil version, He was so excited. And when the Sudhama sisters told Him that this can be sung in the same tune, Bhagavan’s excitement knew no bounds. The Sudhama sisters (Ma Devaki, Ma Vijayalakshmi, Sow. Rajalakshmi and Smt. Vijayakka) immediately sang this at the “Breakfast Hut”. Bhagavan often listened to “maitreem” & this song.

Surata Kavacham or Surata Kavasam is a Hymn in Tamil language written in praise of Yogi Ramsuratkumar, Godchild, Tiruvannamalai. It was recited by the author Sri Visiri Shankar in the Divine presence of Yogi Ramsuratkumar on 16th August 1995. The audio of this song was released by Yogi Ramsuratkumar Gurukshetram, Jaihindpuram, Madurai 625 011 in the year 2014. In this audio, the kavasam has been sung by Sow. K. The tune of this song, is similar to the famous Skanda Shashti Kavacham by Sri Bala Devaraya Swamigal on Lord Muruga. “Vaakeesha Kalaanidhi” Kee. Vaa. Jagannathan, a student of Tamil Taattaa (Grandfather of Tamil Language) U.Ve.Saaminaata Iyer, was himself a very famous Tamil Poet. Ki.Va.Ja had the Darshan of Yogi Ramsuratkumar for the first time when he went to Tiruvannamalai to participate in the Kumbhabhishekam of the Arunachaleshwarar Temple in 1976. He was very much attracted by Yogi Ramsuratkumar and he started visiting Yogi Ramsuratkumar often. During such visits, the emotion of devotion reached its peak and transformed itself into extempore poems, which would simply burst out. He started composing many poems in this way in the Divine presence of Yogi Ramsuratkumar. The people around him were struggling to capture those continuous flow of poems which were forceful and uncontrollable, like the water gushing out of a dam. As they were too precious to be lost, audio recorders were arranged to capture these extempore poems. There were numerous such songs (1024 to be precise) that were composed by Ki.Va.Ja on Yogi Ramsuratkumar. They were all set to music and were repeatedly sung in the presence of Yogi Ramsuratkumar. Yogi Ramsuratkumar enjoyed and encouraged the singing of Ki.Va.Ja’s songs. In these songs, Ki.Va.Ja has expressed his mystical experiences on seeing Yogi Ramsuratkumar and has described both the physical form of Yogi Ramsuratkumar and the indescribable Spiritual Power that Yogi Ramsuratkumar represents.
Some of the songs were published in the Souvenir released on the occasion of Yogi Ramsuratkumar’s Jayanthi Celebrations held on 1-Dec-1978. Yogi Ramsuratkumar Trust has brought out an Audio CD based on a collection of songs from that book. These songs have been rendered by the famous Carnatic Musician Sri. T.M. Krishna. He is accompanied by Sri. S. Varadarajan on the Violin, Sri K. Arun Prakash on the Mrudangam and Sri P.S. Purushottam on the Kanjira.
