1st sloka – Yogi Ramsuratkumar Guru Raja Ashtakam

May Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar, the king of preceptors and the beloved of Lord Rama, protect us! He is an ascetic; He has subdued his senses through penance; He is solely established in contemplating on the lord of the Raghus (i.e., Sri Rama); he is the Sun that dispels the darkness in the form of worldly existence; He is the desire-yielding gem, Chintamani, for his steadfast devotees; He is the moon that gladdens his disciples; He has a balanced mind. And he is the very embodiment of the name of the Lord Sri Rama.

2nd sloka – Yogi Ramsuratkumar Guru Raja Ashtakam

May Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar, the king of preceptors and the beloved of Lord Rama, protect us! He is the very essence of the nectar of compassion and in the Kali age. He is the only one who is auspicious and prosperous. He has the discrimination between what is to be done and what is not to be done. He has a lot of merit. He knows the Upanishads and is blissful. He possesses the will to confer (upon his devotees) perfection in the art of discussing (discrimination) about the self and the not-self. He hates those who indulge in spurious arguments.

kāruṇyāmr̥tasāravān kaliyugē kalyāṇavān bhūtimān
kr̥tyākr̥tyavivēkavān sukr̥tavān vēdāntavidvān sukhī |
ātmānātmavicārasid’dhimatimān durvādavidvēṣavān

He has an adorable mental attitude which is marked by steadfastness and magnanimity. He is honourable, high-souled and wise. He is bent upon showing grace to the devotees; He is an abode of virtues. He is an expert speaker. He is full of penance and is scholarly.

May Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar, the king of preceptors and the beloved of Lord Rama, protect us! He has a form which is rendered beautiful by his lotus-face lit by a gentle smile. He shines with a palmyrah fan. He has a Yoga-staff, turban, coconut shell and panchakacca (dress). He is virtuous, wise and great. He is the repository of the nectar of love for Lord Rama. He is best among the embodied souls. And he is the most desirable person on the earth.

He is effulgent. He is full of forbearance. He has special perfections. He has a good conduct. He is righteous. He is prosperous. He has the wealth in the form of concentration attained through meditation (on the Lord). And he is always blissful.

May Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar, the king of preceptors and the beloved of Lord Rama, protect us! He was supported (brought up) by Sri Seshadri Swami, Sri Aravinda yogi and Sri Ramana Maharishi. He was blessed by Sri Ramadasa Guru by imparting the great Sita Rama mantra. He is content in his own mind with the bhajans on the name of Lord Rama, performed in the area marked by the Punnaga tree.

May Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar, the king of preceptors and the beloved of Lord Rama, protect us! He is always content with recollecting (chanting) the nectarine names of Lord Rama. He has an auspicious mind. He has been rendered a holy saint by Lord Arunachaleshvara. He has been liberated from the ocean of worldly life. He is attached to good people. He is totally devoted to Truth and he is honoured by multitudes of virtuous people.

May Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar, the king of preceptors and the beloved of Lord Rama, protect us! He is always interested in removing the afflictions of the helpless ones and his disciples who surrender to him. He is the directly visible God who manifested Himself on earth in this Kali age which brings in guilt and sin. He is the beloved son of Lord Rudra and Mother Goddess Apeethakuchaa (the presiding deities at Tiruvannamalai). And he treads the path of liberation.

9th sloka – Yogi Ramsuratkumar Guru Raja Ashtakam

Those who with devotion, read every morning this meritorious, sweet and delightful Hymn in eight verses which pleases the heart of the adorable Guru Yogi (Ramsuratkumar) composed by Sri Vaidyanatha, will attain knowledge and prosperity in this world and bliss (in the other world).

puṇyaṁ stavāṣṭakamidaṁ madhuraṁ manōjñaṁ
śrī vaidyanātha racitaṁ guruyōgihr̥dyam |
yē vā paṭhanti satataṁ prayatā: prabhātē
vidyāṁ śriyaṁ bhuvi sukhaṁ puruṣā labhantē || 9 ||

puṇyaṁ -meritorious;stava – Hymn; aṣṭakam – that which has eight verses;idaṁ –  this; madhuraṁ – sweet; manōjñaṁ – delightful; śrī vaidyanātha – Sri Vaidyanatha; racitaṁ – composed; guru – Guru; yōgi – Yogi (Yogi Ramsuratkumar); hr̥dyam – that which pleases the heart; yē – those who;vā –if (if they read); paṭhanti –read; satataṁ – constantly; prayatā: – devoted ones;prabhātē – every morning;vidyāṁ – knowledge; śriyaṁ – prosperity; bhuvi – in this world; sukhaṁ – bliss; puruṣā:-those people; labhantē–they attain.

पुण्यं स्तवाष्टकमिदं मधुरं मनोज्ञं

श्री वैद्यनाथ रचितं गुरुयोगिहृद्यम् |

ये वा पठन्ति सततं प्रयता: प्रभाते

विद्यां श्रियं भुवि सुखं पुरुषा लभन्ते || ९ ||

अन्वय:

ये वा सततं प्रभाते प्रयता: इदं श्री वैद्यनाथ रचितं गुरुयोगिहृद्यम् मधुरं मनोज्ञं पुण्यं स्तवाष्टकम् पठन्ति, (ते) पुरुषा: विद्यां श्रियं भुवि सुखं लभन्ते |

प्रथमा
